On November 12th, the online webinar “Young People’s Mental Health: The Role of Schools” brought together educators, experts, and partners to explore one of the most pressing topics in education today: the well-being of our youth.

Organized by the Agrupamento de Escolas de Terras do Bouro in partnership with INOVA+ as part of the European YoungMinds project, the event highlighted the vital role schools play in preventing, identifying, and addressing mental health challenges among students.

Participants had the chance to gain insights from diverse perspectives, including contributions from Dr. Lara Lourenço (Pediatrics Department, ULS São João), Catarina Gomes (Director of Projeto Manicómio), and Dr. Gaspar Ferreira (President of the Northern Regional Delegation, OPP), all recognized for their work in promoting youth mental health.

The webinar fostered engaging discussions, knowledge sharing, and increased awareness on how educational institutions can actively support young people’s psychological well-being – a topic more important than ever in today’s schools.

Together, we can create safer, healthier, and more supportive learning environments for our students.
