Around 40 teachers from Portugal, Greece, Lithuania, and Croatia participated in a series of international webinars under the YoungMinds project!
The webinars, part of the “Empowering Mental Health in Education”, were held between January and March 2026 involving teachers from Portugal, Greece, Croatia and Lithuania.
The YoungMinds international webinars provided educators with a comprehensive approach to mental health education, blending theoretical understanding with practical classroom applications.

Participants explored:
- The biopsychosocial model of mental health focuses on recovery-oriented support and empathetic listening techniques.
- Strategies for reducing stigma and creating safe spaces within schools.
- The integration of short films and educational clips into lesson plans to explore mental health topics such as anxiety, depression, and coping strategies.
- Encouraging critical reflections and open discussions among students on mental health issues.
- Developing personalised action plans for implementing film-based lessons in classrooms.
- Guiding students to create their own short films as part of the mental health education process.
- Promoting empathy, critical thinking, and mental health awareness across schools to foster a supportive environment for students’ well-being.

These webinars have successfully equipped educators with the tools and knowledge to integrate mental health education into their classrooms in a meaningful way. By using film as a powerful tool for discussion and promoting critical thinking, teachers are now better prepared to address mental health topics with their students. As a result, the YoungMinds project is paving the way for a more inclusive, supportive, and empathetic learning environment across Europe, where mental well-being is given the attention it deserves.
